What’s In A Name?

In a telephone conversation with Mrs Jane Smith, one of the sisters of Clarke Pearce, the following information was imparted to the current writer. Clarke was named after Clark Gable, because apparently his father bore a facial resemblance to the film star. His Christian name is recorded correctly on his birth certificate as “Clark”. He added the e (ie Clarke) himself when he was about 12 or 14.

This can be taken as an erratum to note 8 in my pamphlet Satpal Ram: GUILTY OF MURDER IN THE FIRST DEGREE.
